About this chapter
What this chapter covers
Managing Products with Agility is the third focus area group Scrum.org lists for PSM I. Its focus areas are forecasting and release planning, product value, Product Backlog management and stakeholders and customers. On PSM I these are tested from the Scrum Master's angle: what the Product Owner is accountable for, and how the Scrum Master helps.
The Scrum Guide 2020 is again the main source, supported by Scrum.org guidance such as Evidence-Based Management for measuring value.
How the topics fit together
The Product Owner maximizes value by ordering the Product Backlog, working with stakeholders and releasing usable Increments. Forecasts are based on what has actually happened, and the plan adapts as the team learns.
The Product Owner owns the Product Backlog and its order. Answers that let stakeholders, managers or the Scrum Master reorder it directly are distractors.
