About this chapter

What this chapter covers

Overview of FusionAccess is 5% of the Huawei HCIA-Cloud Computing H13-511 exam. It covers what Huawei's desktop cloud solution is, how the Huawei Desktop Protocol (HDP) carries a remote desktop to the user, which component does which job, and the business scenarios where virtual desktops fit.

Questions are single-answer, multiple-answer without a stated count, true/false, drag and drop and typed fill-in-the-blank, often "Which of the following statements is true?". This exam has no exhibit figures. In this chapter most questions name a component and ask for its role, or describe a job and ask which component does it.

It has 4 outline topics, and one page covers them.

How the topics fit together

FusionAccess runs desktops as VMs on FusionCompute and delivers them over HDP. The components split into an access layer, a management layer and the agent inside each desktop, and the scenarios show where that model pays off.

Every later FusionAccess chapter assumes you know these components by name. Planning, provisioning and policy questions all refer back to them.

Exam tip

Learn each component as a pair of name and job: WI is the user login page, HDC maps users to desktops, ITA is the administrator portal and talks to FusionCompute, vAG is the access gateway, vLB balances load across WIs, HDA is the agent in the desktop VM and TCM manages thin clients.

How to use these pages

Each topic page has the same shape, so you can skim for what you need.

  • What it is: the idea in plain words.
  • How it works: the mechanism, with tables and examples.
  • What to remember for the exam: the facts to memorize.
  • Common mistakes: the classic traps.
  • Check yourself: three questions to test your understanding.

Before reading a component's description, try to say its job in one sentence. The exam often gives the job and asks which component does it.
